Views of Taiba

Taiba is 10 minutes by car where there are restaurants, doctors,  dentists, pharmacies, a vet,  a gas station, ATM, grocery stores etc. You can buy fresh fish in Taiba, straight off the boat. 

With long stretches of sandy beaches, there is ample space for walking or jogging, beach combing,  fishing or an impromptu game of football.


There are small shops, a school, community center and church within walking distance of the house

The beach in Taiba is popular with surfers and kite surfers from around the world. Many of the international kitesurfing pros come to train at the Taiba lagoon. From June-December, there is a steady trade wind which attracts the kitesurfers. 
January - May brings out the surfers and many competitions are held in the Taiba area during that time. 

There are various festivals held in Taiba including the Sao Pedro festival,  the Escargot festival which always draws large crowds.  For  Carnival Week and the Christmas/New Years holiday bring many tourists to Taiba. Many owners choose to rent out their homes during these times.

Taiba has 300 days of sunshine a year and a normal daytime temperature of 30°C (87°F) making every day enjoyable. 

The Northeast of Brazil has two seasons, a dry and a rainy season. from January-June, you can get rain with the heaviest showers occurring in March and April. The weather still stays warm, though.

 Sao Goncalo is 20 km and there you have:

  •  Main banks, ATMs

  •  Library,

  •  Numerous petrol stations,

  • Supermarkets,  pharmacies 

  •  Main post office 

  • Notaries 

 There is also a busy weekly market on Friday mornings selling clothing, food, and much more.

Fortaleza, the state's capital, is 70km where there is an international airport. There are direct flights from Europe and Miami. Fortaleza is Brazil's fifth largest city and anything you want can be found there.  There are frequent buses from Taiba to Fortaleza and all stops in between. A trip to Fortaleza cost R$7.00. For a taxi, it is circa R$ 150 for a round trip.
